About Botiwalla by Chai Pani
Botiwalla by Chai Pani is chef Meherwan Irani's homage to his life-long love of kababs, Irani Cafes, and the late night street food scene of India. With Chai Pani, Meherwan captured an aspect of street food in India often referred to as chaat - savory, multi-textured snacks like bhel puri, sev potato dahi puri, and vada pav. But the street food scene is vast in India and with Botiwalla, Meherwan is diving into another of his big loves - grilled meats, flat breads, fresh herbs, and wraps. This is the scene that springs up at night in India, when the grills come out, the fires get lit, and late night revelers and commuters get fed.

Botiwalla was one of the highlights of our Asheville trip! The Dahi Puri was amazing, the okra fries were perfectly crispy, the Vada Pav brought back great street-food vibes, and the paneer wrap was absolutely delicious. Every dish was full of flavor. The service was warm, friendly, and attentive as well. Any time I visit Asheville, I'll be sure to come back. Can't wait for my next meal here!

Good food overall. Restaurant has a fun, casual street-food vibe with a lively atmosphere. Small place and it got crowded during the lunch hour. The masala smashed potatoes were just okay, but the Gobi 65 and paneer tikka rice bowl were really good. The vada pav and paneer tikka roll were definitely the highlights β super tasty and full of flavor. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Definitely worth checking out..!!

Walked in just wandering around looking for lunch. Young man at the counter recognized I was new and greeted me with a menu. I asked for a recommendation for a first timer and he pointed me towards the lamb sliders and offered me their home spicy sauces at my request. Him and his coworker were bith very friendly throughout the whole order and purchase. Food took around 8 minutes and was hot when it came out. I recieved complimentary okra fries to try and they were great! Im not a fan of okra so I was a bit hesitant, but these were better in some ways than an old potato fry! The lamb sliders were delicious. The sauces blended well with the natural flavor of the lamb and the coleslaw added a nice crunch to a wet, but firm bun. 8.8/10 will definitely be back.

The food was very good! Just what I was craving. We got the Masala Crispy Smashed Potatoes, Rice Bowl- Chicken Tikka, Lamb Kofta Roll, and a Malai Chicken Tikka Skewer. All tasty, and came with sauces! Who doesnβt love a dipping sauce??!!

This is a fast casual (counter ordering & table delivery) Indian Street food restaurant in West Asheville. This was my first experience after enjoying their spices for some time. The restaurant is comfortable and features a vibrant decor. Some on site parking is available for free. Food is fresh, food was quickly delivered, and the staff super friendly. The menu is limited to the most popular dishes. I had the Desi salad with chicken tikka. It was accompanied with a cilantro lime dressing. It was so good that I ordered an extra one to take home for my husband to try. My only recommendation is that they need to bottle and sell this dressing, itβs that good. Highly recommend for eating in or take out.
